Strategic Vision
Immersive technologies are only now beginning to pop-up in the retail furniture vertical. A few large industry leaders are at the forefront. Within AR and VR circles, home decoration, interior design and furniture purchase is recognized as one of the spaces that immersive technologies will most likely transform how people design, shop and ultimately buy products.
Exploration and shopping make one half of the experience, while configuring made to order designs are the other. Inspiration swells from each environment.
User flow
Experience
The immersive Virtual Reality experience extends the Anthropologie brand into a fully interactive 3D stereo 360° real-time environment. The virtual space is not a literal extension of a brick and mortar store. Rather, key visual components such as color, hand-made artifacts and the overall arrangement of goods combine with sounds and music to create a wholly Anthrolopogie space in the virtual world.
The consumer organically explores the first feature environment and then through a 3D user interface travel to other feature rooms. A secondary 2D UI allows the consumer to search for specific items through a category menu. UI also includes 360° walk-around, 360° spin and detail views of each piece of furniture within the abstract museum-like environment.
